Launch of the 2005 edition of The SEED Handbook
*

March is a very exciting month for SEED. We’ve lots of major events coming up. Firstly, to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, the 2005 edition of my book, the SEED Handbook (Hay House, £10.99), with an interactive CD Rom, is being launched at the House of Lords, hosted by The Rt. Hon. the Baroness Amos, Leader of the House.

On Wednesday 9 March, I start my national book tour with a talk and book signing at Waterstones Piccadilly, 7pm. The next day, I will be speaking in Leeds at the dynamic Yorkshire women's network, Forward Ladies 50/50 Dinner and then travelling to Sheffield on Friday to speak at the South Yorkshire Business Link Women in Enterprise Conference. I’ll be continuing the SEED Handbook tour through March and April, so please check and see if I’m coming to a book store near you.

Keep visiting Seednetwork.com to read our news, see our new photo-galleries of the SEEDpreneurs in action and stay up-to-date with all SEED activities. Thanks for contributing the changes you are making to your life on the SEED community board. Please keep visiting and sharing your stories.

See you in the garden.

Plant the SEEDs at Starbucks

SEED has teamed up with Starbucks to create the inspirational programme, Plant the SEEDs at Starbucks. Starting in the spring, women from local communities will be encouraged to meet together regularly and form leadership groups to create projects that will directly benefit their neighbourhood. We’ll let you know more about this exciting partnership next month. Keep checking SEEDnetwork.com to see if we’re coming to your town.

Share your eco-solutions

Last month we asked you to tell us what you’re doing to save the planet. One of our favourite eco-solutions came from Ruth, who advised us to turn off our televisions. ‘Leaving your television on stand-by uses almost as much power as when it’s fully on. I think it's worth getting up and using my own energy to actually switch the television on and off, rather than just waste more energy!’. Thank you for all your replies and please keep posting your energy-saving tips to the community board.
